Artist Statement
In 1994 an exposed, black and white roll film was placed in a brown paper bag with the word SHOT written on it in black Texta. Life cascaded; children were born, people went crazy, some lived and some died. The bag with the invisible, latent imagery was stashed in a corrugated iron shed for 29 years. Rediscovered, it was processed to reveal negatives of a friend, with the slow, etched texture and markings of the backing paper ingrained upon the filmstrip. That day of snow gums and sun on a bush track manifested through a lengthened photographic process, to imbue and further entangle the double exposures with the light of time.
