Artist Statement
Within my artistic practice I seek to capture images from moving water, enticed by the heightened feelings of the distance of space I can never reach. The Burial Ground studies are photographic images where patterns of sunlight on ripples pass through the clear flow of water, creating aerial views of burial mounds from ancient times. Ditches, banks and monolithic shapes from the henge emerge from the river bed with cursive phrases of white light trailing along the surface of the water. Water is a universal metaphor for the passage of time, death and renewal.
