Artist Statement
Mrs Hudson is a presence that endures in bushland on top of Nullo Mountain. The artist captures the wind animating the motion of a midwinter shadow from the old Myrtle Creek windmill in the Widden Valley. This mysterious, shadowy ruff cycles forward then back with the change of the wind around her head and shoulders; while the strained audio of the windmill mechanisms squeal and groan from deep within the confines of the well. Mrs Hudson’s name is scribed in historic Rylstone Police records as an alias of Elizabeth Hickman.
