Artist Statement
With Women's History the artist seeks to unearth Jessie Hickman’s story to remind us of the historical smothering and silencing that has, and continues to, occur regarding the lives of women. The history of women is largely buried and the voices of all women need to be truthfully recognised and remembered.
This installation includes 4 artworks:
An Unmarked Grave
Bush Curtain
This installation is included in the 2025 solo exhibition The Carousel of Invisibility.
